Software Developer – LiDAR-Based ODS for Railway Stations (f/m/d)
For an international customer we are looking for a Software Developer – LiDAR-Based Obstacle Detection System for Railway Stations (f/m/d).
Your tasks will be:
1. Sensor Data Processing & Fusion
- Processing and fusion of point cloud data from a large number of LiDAR sensors
- Calibration, registration, and pre-processing of multi-sensor setups
- Noise filtering and data quality assurance across heterogeneous sensor configurations
2. Detection & Classification Algorithms
- Development and optimization of state-of-the-art algorithms for obstacle detection and classification (e.g., clustering, segmentation, deep-learning-based approaches)
- Adaptation and tuning of algorithms to railway-specific environmental conditions
3. GPU-based Implementation
- Porting and optimization of algorithms for GPU architectures (e.g., CUDA, TensorRT)
- Ensuring real-time capable performance on embedded GPU platforms (NVIDIA AGX platform)
4. High-Volume Data Handling & Real-Time Processing
- Architecture and implementation of data pipelines for latency-free real-time processing of high-volume LiDAR data streams
- Efficient data recording, buffering, and streaming for logging and offline analysis
- Scalable design to accommodate a large number of sensors per station
Following know-how is required:
- Experience with LiDAR / 3D point cloud processing and sensor fusion
- Knowledge of obstacle detection, object classification and AI-based algorithms
- Experience with GPU computing, ideally CUDA / TensorRT and NVIDIA AGX
- Strong understanding of real-time data processing and high-volume data pipelines
- Experience with multi-sensor systems and data quality assurance
- Experience in at least two of the following areas: sensor fusion, detection algorithms, GPU implementation, real-time data processing
- Experience with agile development methods (Scrum)
- Fluent English skills; German is a plus
